In November, DPH started utilizing RAVE, an emergency text alert system, to communicate with individuals with COVID-19 to share a few important messages. Messages from DPH may come from multiple phone numbers or from the same phone number that previous RAVE messages have been received from, as RAVE is an alert system used by many agencies. Text notifications via RAVE are sent to give individuals:
The informational text messages being sent via RAVE that started November 20th are in a series of three messages and state the following:
o This is St Louis Co Public Health texting about your test results. Stay at home away from household members & others for 10+ days & until symptoms are better.
o Tell people you've been around recently that they should also stay at home away from others for 14 days since the last time you were together.
o Visit stlcorona.com/isolation & stlcorona.com/quarantine for more information.
In the future, DPH plans to switch its notification system to a different texting platform, to allow for expanded communication options with cases & contacts. This system will also use a toll-free phone number unique to DPH when communicating with cases.
