Mass Vaccination Event Raises County Total Vaccinations Above 20,000

On Saturday, Feb. 20, the Department of Public Health partnered with the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency and the University of Missouri—St. Louis to host a mass vaccination event that served 2,375 people. The even ran smoothly with the help of 150 volunteers from the community, most of whom worked alongside staff as vaccinators.

County Executive Page announced that these shots bring the total number of vaccine doses delivered in the county to 20,851. This figure reflects 16,551 people who have received one or both doses. Residents who want a slot at a future mass vaccination event can pre-register with the state at covidvaccine.mo.gov.

Shipment Expected Following Inclement Weather

Last week’s winter storm delayed the 3,000 vaccine doses that were scheduled for delivery to DPH. As a result, the state will deliver two weeks’ worth of vaccine to the county this week. With 6,000 doses on hand, DPH hopes to work quickly through those in eligible tiers who have pre-registered.

Anyone who has not yet done so can visit stlcorona.com to fill out a pre-registration form. Residents may pre-register with both the state and county, as well as any other health care providers who offer the vaccine. DPH will contact people from the pre-registration list as they become eligible under state guidelines to make appointments.
