DPH COVID-19 Update 6/24/2020

Now more than ever, it is vital to continue to take proper personal protective measures seriously, including the disinfection of shared spaces. Be aware and cautious of gathering places that may not accommodate proper social distancing requirements such as break rooms, smoking areas, modes of transportation and shared or congregate housing.

Staying Safe in Shared Spaces

Now more than ever, it is vital to continue to take proper personal protective measures seriously, including the disinfection of shared spaces. Be aware and cautious of gathering places that may not accommodate proper social distancing requirements such as break rooms, smoking areas, modes of transportation and shared or congregate housing. Recommendations for limiting the spread include:

  • Reimagine public spaces, including closing or redirecting traffic in common work areas
  • Space all desks and seating areas at least six feet apart
  • Increase circulation and supply of air flow
  • Check temperatures of all employees who are coming into the space
  • Redesign schedules to encourage less occupancy across the office, including staggering shifts, starting and ending hours, as well as break times.
  • Encourage or mandate cloth face coverings for applicable employees and visitors at all times
  • Remove communal offerings, including shared kitchen areas that might house coffee machines, snacks, or a water cooler.
  • Increased sanitation across the board, including establishing protocol to allow employees to frequently wash their hands
  • Asking employees to use a mode of transportation to get to work that doesn't include other commuters

Adult Sports Guidelines Updated

The Adult Sports Guidelines have been updated and are available online. Playing sports with or against other individuals during this time holds an inherent risk that someone may become infected and, in turn, spread the virus to other individuals in their household or community. Please consider this risk when participating in organized sports. Teams, clubs, leagues, and organizers must be familiar with recommendations from their national, state, and local governing bodies regarding illness (including but not limited to COVID-19). Dignified Transfer Center

The Dignified Transfer Center is currently accommodating 0 decedents. 57 additional individuals have been through the center and transported to a crematorium or funeral home, at the request of family. To date, 57 individuals have entered the Dignified Transfer Center.
